Work with me

Partner with Darren Jonathon

I write honest travel and expat guides for people moving to Australia or planning a first working holiday. If your brand genuinely helps those readers, we should talk.

Who I work with

Tourism boards and regional destination marketing teams, hostels and accommodation groups, travel insurance and eSIM providers, visa and migration services, money transfer companies, job platforms for working holiday makers, and brands that make gear people actually carry. Most of my readers are British or Irish, somewhere between 25 and 35, planning a move or a long trip, and they are about to spend real money.

What I can build for you

Sponsored guides and honest reviews

A long-form guide written the way I write everything else: what it actually costs, what it is really like, who it suits and who it does not. Sponsored from the start and labelled as such, with the good and the bad left in.

Destination campaigns

Multi-page campaigns for tourism boards and regional operators: a pillar guide, city or region pages, maps, photos and internal links that keep readers moving through the site instead of bouncing.

Product and service features

Travel insurance, eSIMs, hostels, visa services, money transfer and job platforms, aimed at the exact reader who is about to buy: British and Irish travellers planning a move to Australia or a first working holiday.

Consulting and content strategy

If you run a travel site, a hostel group or a relocation service and want the search side sorted: structure, internal linking, slug and keyword work, and the planning pages that actually rank.

How I work

  • I only work with things I would use, or would have used, myself.
  • Every commercial relationship is disclosed in the page and marked as sponsored or affiliate where relevant.
  • No paid links slipped in for search engines, no hidden placements, no fake reviews.
  • Prices and facts get checked against the official source before anything goes live.
  • I keep editorial control. If something is not good, the guide says so.

What to send me

  • The brief: what you sell, who it is for and what you want the reader to do.
  • Deliverables and timing: a guide, a review, a campaign, social coverage, or something else entirely.
  • Budget range: it saves us both a round of emails, and I will tell you honestly if it is not a fit.
  • Any hard claims: prices, availability or legal details I need to check with you.

Ask for the media kit

Email me with a short brief and I will send the latest audience numbers, the formats I run and the pricing for each. If it is not a fit, I will say so rather than waste your time.
